
Mr. Nelson L. Render
serves as the proud principal of Lovejoy High School. Prior to being appointed
as principal, Mr. Render served as assistant principal at Carver High School,
Brown Middle School and Chapel Hill Middle School. Mr. Render is known to be a well-respected
leader among colleagues and the community he serves. Mr. Render also served as
the Implementation Specialist for 9-12 College and Career Readiness at Atlanta
Public Schools. Mr. Render has over 20 years of devoted educational service
toward purposeful instructional outcomes for students to receive educational
access and equity.
Mr. Render holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Instrumental Music Education from Delaware State
University and a Master of Science degree from Jacksonville State University.
Mr. Render received various awards and commendations during his career which
includes Teacher of the Year Finalist, Citation of Excellence award from
National Band Association, the Governor’s Commendation for outstanding musical
leadership, Outstanding Administrator Award, and Who’s Who Among American
Teachers.
In addition to serving
as an educator, Mr. Render enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Render also enjoys composing music, playing the trumpet, golfing, reading,
cooking, creating media art, producing voice-over commercials, mentoring, and
volunteering during the holidays. Mr. Render is supported by his beautiful wife
Cheryl and two children Bryce and Haley.
