    Let's Welcome to Lovejoy High School, our new Principal, Dr. Kevin Griffin.

Dr. Kelvin L. Griffin is a seasoned educator and dynamic school leader with over 23 years of experience in teaching and administration. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education from Clark Atlanta University, a Master’s and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Mercer University, where his research focused on the relationship between teacher self-efficacy and perceptions of leadership.
Dr. Griffin formally served as Assistant Principal at Eddie White Academy in Clayton County Public Schools, where he championed STEM education through strategic partnerships, program development, and inclusive access. Dr. Griffin’s professional journey includes principalships at Arlington Christian School, Destiny
Achievers Academy of Excellence, and Jean Childs Young Middle School. Under his leadership, schools have seen measurable gains in graduation rates, student achievement, and strategic program development, including securing over $400,000 in grants to close equity gaps.


In addition to his work in K-12 education, Dr. Griffin has a reputation for developing thriving learning atmospheres through implementing best practices in teacher advocacy, proactive parental communication, leadership development, and the incorporation of wrap-around services that meet student needs outside the classroom to ensure student success within the classroom. Dr. Griffin is a committed advocate for student success, instructional excellence, and leadership development. He is a noted authority in at-risk students and urban environments, Dr. Griffin specializes in non-traditional learning and strategic alliances that help students meet and exceed standards.
